Johannes Klein laureate Lorentz Chemistry Competition 2019/2020

16 December 2019

Dr. Johannes Klein (Stratingh Institute for Chemistry in Groningen), Dr. Daniël Broere (Utrecht University) and Prof. Vera Krewald (Technical University of Darmstadt) are the laureates of the Lorentz Chemistry Competition 2019/2020. Their proposal on "Bio-Inorganic Chemistry" was very well received by the evaluation committee, who found the topic of small molecule activation highly relevant and appreciated that the participants are a mix of experimentalists and theoreticians from different disciplines.

The winners were celebrated at the CHAINS conference on December 9th in Veldhoven. A workshop on the topic suggested by the laureates will be organized in August 2020 at the venue Lorentz Center@Snellius in Leiden, with the Lorentz professional support organization (under the philosophy ‘you do the research, we do the rest’).
