Research Institutes
Apart from offering a wide range of degree programmes, the Faculty Board is responsible for monitoring the quality and organization of research within the faculty. To that end, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts has been appointed as Portfolio Holder Research of the Faculty Board .
Research institutes
Three research institutes accommodate the research of the Faculty of Arts, namely the Center for Language and Cognition (CLCG), the Groningen Research Institute for the Study of Culture (ICOG) and the Groningen Institute of Archaeology (GIA). Each institute consists of smaller centres or research groups.
Policy affairs
The Portfolio Holder Research receives support and advice from the Policy Advisor Research . The Faculty Funding Officer informs researchers about possibilities regarding intenal and external funding for research projects, and encourages and facilitates their efforts in obtaining such funding. It is the role of the Policy Officer Public Engagement to create awareness of the importance of public engagement, to increase the visibility of outreach activities, and to encourage researchers to achieve societal impact. The Policy Officer Internationalization advises on and supports questions regarding mobility and international (research) cooperation.
