Installatie Rosalind Franklin Fellows op 10 november 2014

The Rosalind Franklin Fellowship programme is primarily directed at ambitious women in academia, research institutes or industry who have a PhD and aim for a career towards full professorship in a European top research university. The fellowship offers career opportunities to work in international leading milieus and is only awarded to outstanding researchers.

Ykelien Boersma (1978) obtained her Master degree in Pharmacy at Utrecht University, and a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Groningen in 2007.

She received a Rubicon fellowship to work at the Institute of Biochemistry at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

In 2011 she received a long-term fellowship from the Human Frontier Science Program, and worked as a postdoc at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Melbourne, Australia.

In March 2014, she has joined the Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy within the Department of Pharmaceutical Biology as an assistant professor and Rosalind Franklin Fellow. Her work focuses on a group of enzymes named sortases.
