
Ligia Kiyuna and Christoff Odendaal have each won a poster prize at the annual INFORM meeting in Freiburg

PhD students Ligia Kiyuna and Christoff Odendaal (University Medical Center Groningen) have each won a poster prize at the annual INFORM meeting in Freiburg. The INFORM network (https://informnetwork.org/) brings together clinicians, laboratory researchers, and patient organisations focusing on inherited fatty-acid oxidation disorders.
- Christoff Odendaal won the prize for his personalised computational modelling of symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with the same genetic defect.
- Ligia Kiyuna won the prize for her investigations into alternative nutrient utilisation by the different organs of the body, when compensating for a fatty-acid oxidation disorder.
Ligia and Christoff are members of the European doctoral training network PoLiMeR (https://polimer-itn.eu).
