Young people develop in various social contexts, including family, peer, and school settings. Theoretical perspectives from pedagogy, psychology, and sociology inform research about young people and quantitative as well as qualitative methods are utilized, ranging from in-depth interviews to large-scale longitudinal surveys.

Our research focusses on LGBT mental health, adolescent development from an intergenerational perspective, youth participation, and youth in higher education.

For students, we provide education on youth-related themes in the Master’s track Youth, Society, and Policy and the University Minor Challenging Youth, as well as in various modules within the Pedagogical Sciences program, such as Youth and Social Development, and the Faculty’s Research Master program.
