Jaakko's bases covered
On November 18 Jaakko successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Covering all the bases - Coarse-grained model design and application for nucleic acids". The MD group members saw Jaakko's nervosity quickly disappear as he was able to answer all the opponents' questions and we even managed to catch a big smile after the liberating "Hora Finita!". We enjoyed a lovely dinner together afterwards while listening to the (for Finnish standards) emotional speeches. A great day all in all, an excellent thesis and a well-deserved new title for Dr. Uusitalo!
