Landscape courses
Our landscape courses offer you scientific landscape knowledge in an inspiring environment. The courses include lectures, workshops, field practicals and excursions. We aim for a biannual course Cultural Landscapes of the Northern Netherlands interspersed with a thematic and/or regional course.
Course: Cultural Landscapes of the Northern Netherlands
Have you always wanted to know more about the landscapes of the Northern Netherlands? Treat yourself to more landscape knowledge: a course on the structure and origin of the cultural landscapes of the Northern Netherlands.
The provinces of Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe offer a wide variety of special historical cultural landscapes. The Wadden, the Drenthe esdorpen landscape and the mound landscape are the most famous examples, but there are also many less known, but equally remarkable landscapes that deserve a closer look.
Course information
The course provides you with new knowledge and inspires you to actively use this knowledge in your own life or work practice. For employees of municipalities, provinces, consultancy firms, water boards, nature and landscape organisations, landscape and garden architects, and other interested parties.

Three-day course Cultural Landscapes (in collaboration and on request)
Get to know the value of your cultural landscape! Municipalities, provinces and landscape, nature and heritage organizations face major landscape challenges. Climate targets, housing, nitrogen and agricultural issues are putting pressure on the landscape. You are asked to make choices. Base your choice on knowledge.
The Centre of Landscape Studies organizes courses in your region. We do this at the invitation of and in collaboration with municipalities, provinces and landscape and heritage organisations. The course is tailor-made, and focused on your own landscapes and issues. During the course you will learn about the latest research of the past, present and future of your landscapes. We organized courses about the cultural landscapes of North Brabant, the Wadden and Central Limburg.
Course information
The three-day course is tailor-made. We determine the group size in consultation. The course price depends on the composed program. The Center of Landscape Studies is not for profit: the revenues cover the expenses.
Are you interested in what we can offer your organization? Please feel free to contact Anne Wolff (a.j.wolff rug.nl).
