Accessibility
See this link for a map of the Zernike Campus. The Bernoulliborg and parking lot P1 are circled.
Bernoulliborg
The Blaauw Observatory is located on top of the Bernoulliborg (Nijenborgh 9), a very large blue building. The Bernoulliborg is one of the university buildings on the Zernike Campus on the north-west side of the city of Groningen. The building is easily accessible by both car and public transport. There are a couple of parking lots located around the Zernike Campus. Therefore, you will have to walk a few hundred meters to reach the building. Buses stop right in front of the Bernoulliborg. Arriving by bus, the entrance of the building can be found at the opposite side of the building.
Parking
Evening visitors must park at parking lot P4. Follow the signs "Parking Bernoulliborg". The barrier of P4 is open after 18:00 in the evening. From the parking lot one must follow the signs indicating “Bernoulliborg”.
Accessibility of observatory and public evenings
Unfortunately, the dome of the Blaauw Observatory is not accessible to wheelchair users. In order to enter the dome of the observatory visitors have to take two stairs. Other activities during public evenings, such as the lectures and the children's program, are accessible for wheelchair users.
