"The Future of Videographic Criticism"
Abstract
Over the last 15 years, videographic criticism (or video essays, as they are more commonly known) has emerged as a widely practiced form of media with numerous intersecting contexts, including social media and online video, film and media criticism and scholarship, and experimental and essay filmmaking. What does the future hold for this ever-evolving field? This talk will assess the current landscape and speculate about the evolution of the practice in the coming years.
