New ICOG Director

20 November 2023

Professor Pablo Valdivia has been appointed the new director of ICOG, from 1 November 2023 until 1 November 2027. Pablo is following in the footsteps of Professor Sabrina Corbellini.

Dean Thony Visser: 'A new period is starting for ICOG. During the last visitation, explicit attention was drawn to a number of strategic issues, such as developing a research-linked impact strategy. In doing so, the institute will be able to benefit from Pablo's insight and experience, also as director of the national Research School in Literature (Landelijke Onderzoekschool Literatuurwetenschap (OSL)). The Faculty Board looks forward to collaborating with Pablo.'

Pablo: 'I look forward to working closely with the Faculty Board, the ICOG community, and the support and impact officers in developing the new research and impact strategy. I believe this is key for positively aligning scientific excellence and societal challenges in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world. I am excited to contribute to the Faculty with my experience at OSL and NIAS-KNAW.'
