Call for applications: new summer and winter schools (university-wide call)
The Board of the University has launched its 6th call for applications for starting grants for new winter schools (2018-2019) and new summer schools (2019). These should be research-driven, distinctly different from what close competitors offer, and coordinated by (leading) UG academics in cooperation with (international) partners or other external stakeholders.
In view of recruitment purposes, the new summer and winter schools should preferably attract advanced BA and (research) master students, PhD students or early career researchers, from a variety of international backgrounds. NB in 2016-2017 the summer and winter schools attracted 1431 participants from 99 nationalities, the majority of whom (85%) were not (yet) enrolled at/employed by UG.
Applications (and corresponding budget proposals) that have been endorsed by the lead faculty can be submitted digitally. The application deadline is Friday 29 June 2018. The results will be published on Monday 9 July 2018. Those applications that will be awarded a once-only starting grant will then also receive specific information on PR/marketing and student housing (July/August 2019), as these processes need to be started as early as September 2018. Make sure to take this into account when preparing the application.
Please check www.rug.nl/summerschools or www.rug.nl/mu/summerschools for more information on summer & winter schools, or contact Selma Bakker (s.m.bakker rug.nl, 050 363 2901).
