Why choose the Summer School ‘Data Science and AI in Health’?
Rapid advancements in data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) call for a new generation of clinicians and (clinical) scientists, who are able to develop and introduce new prediction models and treatment strategies in healthcare. Therefore, the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) organizes the new Summer School ‘Data Science and AI in Health’.

In the near future, data science and AI will cause major shifts in the way health research is conducted and care is provided. With a reported compound annual growth (CAGR) rate of 36% through 2025, healthcare data has one of the highest growing rates. These CAGR expectation rates make data science a powerful driver of innovation in all disciplines of healthcare (research).
