Course-based phase
All part-time PhD candidates follow a compulsory educational programme of 30 EC (1 EC is 28 hours of work); a standard part of 15 EC and an individual, elective part of 15 EC, containing two methods courses and one profile course of the FEBRI Research Master. The course-based phase is designed to be completed in two academic years but this can be shortened to one year based on available timefor educational activities:
Year 1:

Research Project (5 EC)

English writing and presentation courses (5 EC)

Elective: Methods course 1 (5 EC)
Year 2:

Research Proposal (5 EC)

Elective: Methods course 2 (5 EC)

Elective: Profile course (5 EC)
In addition, candidates have to follow three workshops (2EC) and give two presentations at FEBRI's PhD Conference (1EC) either in the course- or research-based phase.
