Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Leon Koopmans (Kapteyn)

Leon Koopmans obtained an MSc and PhD (Cum Laude) in astronomy from the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute, University of Groningen in 1995 and 2000, respectively. He worked as research fellow at the University of Manchester (UK), the California Institute of Technology (US) and the Space Telescope Science Institute (US), before returning to Kapteyn as faculty member in 2004, where is a full professor. He is a principle investigator of the LOFAR Reionization (EoR) Key Science Project, chaired the SKA EoR Science Working Group and current chairs an international SKA EoR Science team of 80 members. He (co)authored more than 250 refereed papers.
