Bayu Jayawardhana (IEEE Senior Member) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Institut Teknologi Bandung, Bandung, Indonesia, in 2000, the M.Eng. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Imperial College London, London, U.K., in 2006. Currently, he is an associate professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands. He was with Bath University, Bath, U.K., and with Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre, University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K. His research interests are on the analysis of nonlinear systems, systems with hysteresis, mechatronics, systems and synthetic biology.

He is a Subject Editor of the International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, an associate editor of the European Journal of Control, an associate editor of the IEEE Transaction on Control Systems Technology, and a member of the Conference Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society. He is the chair of IEEE Control Systems Society Technical Committee on Systems Biology.
