Solid State Materials for Electronics

At the Solid State Materials for Electronics (formerly Nanostructures of Functional Oxides) lab, we investigate materials that display physical phenomena and responses of relevance for electronic applications. We are particularly interested in ferroelectric, piezoelectric, thermoelectric, ferromagnetic, multiferroic and memristive oxides. Our approach consists on exploiting the symmetry-property relationships by achieving high control of the materials structures at different length scales, combined with a detailed understanding of the physics mechanisms.

The SSME lab is headed by prof. dr. Beatriz Noheda and comprises two groups, led by Beatriz Noheda and Graeme R. Blake, respectively.
