Find the CogniGron stand: Making brain matter
Three CogniGron team members, Haoran Yu, Memoona Ismail and Joost Zoestbergen, will conduct a cool experiment on-site:
Our brain contains cells called neurons. When we are born, these neurons are isolated from each other. As we experience the world and learn, connections are created between neurons forming intricate networks. The more we learn, the more connections are created. Can we follow these principles to construct materials that can learn and adapt, like living systems? Can we make artificial brains? This seems hard… but what about making computers that emulate the brain? Computers that will enable us do AI with a tiny fraction of the energy that we use nowadays. They have a name: neuromorphic computers.
