Inspiring excursion to the historic landscape of the Drentse Aa

At the 1st of September 2022 personel, researchers and students of the Irees department of ESRIG had an inspiring excursion to the beautiful area of the Drentse Aa. We found eatable spices and flowers and we saw insects which we normally dont see.
The Drentsche Aa landscape was created many thousands of years ago through a collaboration of nature and man. An ancient landscape. You will find many special plants and animals here. But also the most prehistoric monuments of our country together.
It is the best preserved brook-esdorp landscape in Western Europe. Where you can still 'feel' the history of the villages, ash trees, fields and streams. Where the streams still follow their natural courses as they have for many thousands of years.
