Team Top Dutch Solar Racing in Australia | Go Green Lightning!

On October 13, the Bridgestone World Solar Challenges has started. This year with a brand new car "Green Lightning" from the Top Dutch Solar Racing team. This team consists of 27 students, from secondary vocational eduction (MBO), higher professional eduction (HBO) and University Education (University of Groningen and Hanzehogeschool).

Eize Stamhuis, Associate Professor at the Energy and Sustainability Research Institute (ESRIG) helped the team by providing them with measurements with the scale model of the car in Ocean Ecosystems research flowtank. Normally this flowtank is used for Eize's study in Biological fluid mechanics and locomotion of marine aquatic and aerial organisms. Stamhuis also supported the team with measurements for the actual Green Lightning car at the DNW/NLR windtunnel-complex at Marknesse.
