The ECHOES group is doing its best to continue the research programme whilst not violating any national restrictions, as the Netherlands' oscillates between gedeeltelijke and volledige lockdowns. We had a productive summer and have squirrelled away enough work to keep us busy at home through the impending Dutch winter. Once again, we would like to express our appreciation for those on the front line in the battle against this dreadful virus, especially the healthcare professionals, carers, scientists, and those who work in food and utility supply chains.
In this instalment of our blog, we wanted to give a shout out to the company that has prepared a fabulous short video for us about our research: Pix Videos Production Company (www.pix-videos.com). The video is now available on our project website: www.rug.nl/research/esrig/echoes/media/video/echoes, and will also be distributed on our Twitter account today. We find that, within just 60 entertaining seconds, it manages to explain and illustrate, in a very colourful and stylish way, the main objective of our grant. There are other dimensions to our project that we did not seek to crowd into this video, but the central thread of the ECHOES project has never been communicated better, or in a more appealing way.
For the video, I dealt with Mr Pablo Hortal of Pix Videos. We conducted all our meetings online and he simply exchanged with me with working drafts of the video until we had it finished (which really only took a matter of weeks). One thing I really appreciated about working with Pablo was that he always let me take the lead with the content of the video. All the design elements and styles are, of course, totally down to Pix Videos but, in terms of the narrative, he always adopted whatever changes I asked for quickly and efficiently, without any misgivings about their impact on the final product. In short, the ECHOES team can totally recommend Pix Videos to anyone with similar outreach ambitions!
