Dr. K.M. Vermeulen
Karin M. Vermeulen (PhD) studied Human Movement Sciences at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen between 1988 and 1994. After that, she gained professional experience in different positions in the health care sector. In 2000 started working at the University Medical Center Groningen (office for Medical Technology Assessment), where she completed her dissertation on the subject of Health Related Quality of Life and Lung Transplantation (2004). Since then, she completed different projects mainly on costs effectiveness of new health care interventions. Currently, she works as a senior researcher at the department of Epidemiology (unit Health Technology Assessment). She is involved in different research projects mainly in the field of organ donation and transplantation, care for youth and dermatology. Main research interests are health outcomes, Quality of Life and Health Technology Assessment. In addition to her research activities, she is involved in teaching of medical students, supervising PhD students and consultancy, mainly on writing grant proposals.
