Perspective article by Jingxiu Xie published in Science
Jingxiu Xie from the Green Chemical Reaction Engineering research unit of ENTEG (University of Groningen) was invited to share her perspective on the latest research in synthesis gas (carbon monoxide and hydrogen) conversion to valuable chemicals in Science, with relevance to the work of Xu et al. on a new Fe-based catalyst for the Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) process. In her article, Jingxiu Xie discusses the novelty of the catalyst designed by Xu et al., along with the future prospects and implications. In line with the FTS research program in her new research-group Heterogenous Catalysis for Gas Conversion here at ENTEG, Xie highlights the importance of this research as a feasible solution to utilize alternative, more sustainable carbon raw materials to meet the demands of a growing population.
