Looking back at our online ENTEG PhD meeting
On the 4th of March ENTEG had its 6th PhD meeting. Due to the pandemic we had to organize this event a bit different than usually. We chose for a hybrid variant in which most of our presenters were together in a physical class room and the audience joined from home.
Best ENTEG PhD Presentation Award
PhDs from the different ENTEG research units presented their research who gave very interesting talks of high quality. The jury decided to announce two winners of the Best ENTEG PhD Presentation Award: Debarun Sengupta from the Advanced Production Engineering unit was awarded for his talk on how to make sensors wearable through a biomimetic approach and Felipe Orozco from the Product Technology group for his talk about electroactive self-healable shape memory polymer composites. Congratulations to both of you!
Best ENTEG research video
Furthermore, videos made by each research group were displayed. Each group spent a lot of time and effort to make the videos and there were several videos of high quality, informative content and creativity. The choosen approach also differed a lot and therefore it was difficult to choose just one winner. For creativity, enthusiasm and at the same time still being informative, the first winner of the Best ENTEG research video is the Optimization and Decision Systems video. The jury also was impressed with the clarity, scientific content and presentation of the Advanced Production Engineering video, which therefore also was announced as winner. We specifically would like to thank all for putting so much energy and time in making this part of our day into a great success.
The day was concluded with three short pitches from new scientific staff members and a challenging but fun virtual team escape room activity.
