CEASG welcomes its first student intern Mr. Yesaya Christianto. Mr Chrsitianto will work on CEASG’s EU-South Korea Economic Diplomacy Project and Korean studies UKOR holdings. He is a MA candidate in International Political Economy at the University of Groningen. Graduated from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan in 2016, Yesaya worked as a junior researcher at political and economic research and consultancy firm Tenggara Strategics, a joint firm between Centre of Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Jakarta and The Jakarta Post, before pursuing his MA. His previous research focused on socio-economic impacts of political shift and foreign investments in Aceh, and public sentiment analysis towards Belt and Road Initiatives (BRI) in Indonesia. He is interested in the socio-economic implications behind a political economic phenomenon in developing countries, such as the gig economy of online ride-hailing - which he’s currently writing his thesis about.
