A wearable support structure for tactile stimulation in virtual realities
Tactile sensation is often affected by neurological diseases such as stroke or cerebral palsy. So farthere have only been very few rehabilitation robots that tried to go beyond providing simple forcefeedback and these robots only focused on one fingertip. Within this project a soft or rigid exo-skeleton for mounting different tactile actuators in close to proximity to the body will bedeveloped. This will enable us to add the dimension of touch to virtual environments and to use this new dimension for neurorehabilitation.
