Ahmed Soliman wins NVBMB Dr. Bert L. Schram award
During the NWO Chains meeting in Veldhoven (December 4-6, 2017) two presentations were awarded with the Dr. Bert L. Schram Award for the best lecture by a young scientist in the field of biochemistry and/or molecular biology.
- Alice Bolner (Hubrecht Institute; Knipscheer lab): Endogenous DNA interstrand crosslinks are repaired via the Fanconi anemia pathway and a newly identified pathway.
- Ahmed Soliman (RU Groningen; Kortholt lab): Disruption of LRRK2 dimerization as a novel therapeutic approach against Parkinson’s Disease.
The €500 prize for each winner was sponsored by the ESCOM Science Foundation.
