Severe traffic disruption for five months
Various directions of the southern ring road will be temporarily closed from Friday 22 March, to Monday 2 September. This will cause serious traffic disruption throughout the city for five months. If all motorists continue to travel by car during this period, traffic in the city will come to a complete standstill, resulting in huge traffic jams. In total, 80,000 fewer cars need to be on the road every day to maintain good traffic flow.
