Title: Adjoint method for a 0D lumped-parameter model of the cardiovascular system
Abstract:
With the adjoint method the exact gradient can be calculated in an efficient way, particularly valuable when using optimization methods involving the gradient. During the seminar not only the adjoint method will be explained, also an introduction to automatic differentiation (an important tool for implementing the adjoint method) will be given. Finally, the latest results related to the gradient estimation of the 0D lumped-parameter model of the cardiovascular system with the adjoint method will be presented.
