Titel: Extending the analysis of a biological system via input-to-state stability
Abstract:
In the pursuit of understanding the interaction between two types of neurons (excitatory and inhibitory) in the olfactory bulb, we are first considering the stability analysis on an autonomous system interaction (one excitatory neuron vs one inhibitory one, with no external inputs). After successfully showing that this interaction is globally asymptotically stable, the challenge is ensuring that once external inputs are considered and we deal with a network of neurons, we can further ensure stability. For this purpose, we introduce the input-to-state stability (ISS) framework. Since the biological model is described as piecewise affine system (PWA), we will provide an extension of the cone copositive method by applying concepts from ISS.
