legal emergency

The judiciary is in the spotlight. Everyone has an opinion about court rulings and the work of the prosecutor's office. But justice is not just about criminal law. Whether it is a divorce, a custody battle, an argument with neighbors, problems with the municipality or other authorities, bankruptcy, receivership, etc., the courts come into play.

The Public Academy for the Judisprudence aims to meet this interest with accessible lectures. Judges, prosecutors, professors and other experts talk about topics in the law that affect many people. The lectures are suitable for a wide audience. Knowledge of the law is not required to attend lectures.

Theme of 'legal emergency' central to first reading

During this Public Academy Lecture, a judge and a prosecutor explain what emergency defense is. Using examples, they explain the difference between justified self-defense and criminal conduct.

The judge and prosecutor, each from their own perspective, discuss this current topic. In addition, Dagblad van het Noorden journalist Rob Zijlstra talks about his experiences as a court reporter. Naturally, there will also be room for questions.
