General Data Protection Regulation
The GDPR has taken effect in 2018. This European law regulates data- and privacy protection for all EU citizens. All support staff members and researchers who collect and process personal data within the University of Groningen have to comply with the GDPR.
Researchers of the Faculty of Law who use personal data in their research projects have to comply with the rules of the GDPR. Researchers have to provide insight into the privacy sensitivity of their research. For this they can use the ‘webtool’ to make a RDMP (Research Data Management Plan). See this information on Research Data Management
For detailed information and useful tips see also the Privacy Portal on the intranet (login required).
