André de Hoogh reappointed to the Advisory Committee on Public International Law
By royal decree, Associate Professor André de Hoogh has been reappointed as member of the Advisory Committee on Public International Law for another period of four years. The Advisory Committee is an independent body that advises the Dutch Government and Parliament (House of Representatives and Senate).
Advice is most often requested by the Government, but increasingly also by the House of Representatives. Its reports often address legal questions regarding international law and the need for its development. Noteworthy reports of the Advisory Committee concern "The Use of the Term "Genocide" by Politicians", "The Aspirations for Independence by the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Iraq", and "The Provision and Funding of Non-lethal Assistance to Non-state Armed Groups Abroad".
More information about the Advisory Committee and its reports may be accessed here.
