Anushtha Verma

After completing my LLB in International and European Law (Technology Law track) at the University of Groningen, I was looking for a masters degree focusing solely on technology law which was also research oriented. After a lot of research and studying curriculums of different universities offering Technology Law LLMs, I decided to stay in Groningen and follow the Technology Law and Innovation LLM and I am glad I did.

The Faculty of law is amazing. Due to the small batch size of the LLM, when compared to LLB, there were a lot of opportunities to interact with professors who were always ready to help and guide you to the best of their abilities. Throughout the year, the professors focused on helping the students develop soft skills along with legal knowledge that prepared us for the job market. Additionally, the International Office ( especially the Study Advisors) are readily available to solve any issue you may have. They are quick to reply to emails and with all the administrative support.

When I moved to Groningen in 2021, I fell in love with this city. It is, as the Dutch people say, Gezellig. Groningen, along with its people, is warm, fun and happening. Studying in Groningen has been one of the best decisions of my life. Everything is close to the city, either a bike ride or train ride away and here are so many bike trails that take you to the countryside with beautiful views. Groningen will always be one of my favorite cities.

The Faculty of Law has prepared me in achieving all my career goals by providing me with an amazing network of colleagues and professors who are more than willing to help at all times. I have also developed a strong foundation of technical and legal knowledge along with skills necessary to conduct research. All the experiences I have gained in my academic and personal journey in the city and at the University of Groningen have prepared me well for what the future holds.
