Workshop 'Towards Horizon 2020: Public Interests and Private Relationships', 12 December 2013

Thursday 12 December 2013, Het Kasteel (Melkweg 1, Groningen) from 9:00 until 17:30
23 October 2013

Dear colleagues,

We would like to warmly invite you to the next faculty-wide event of the research programme “Public Interests and Private Relationships” (PIPR):

The workshop: “TOWARDS HORIZON 2020: PUBLIC INTERESTS AND PRIVATE RELATIONSHIPS”.

It will take place on 12 December 2013 in Het Kasteel (Melkweg 1, room 1.12). For this workshop, we have reserved the whole day from 9:00 until 17:30. We are aware that not everybody will have time to attend all parts of the workshop. However, we would greatly appreciate it if as many colleagues as possible could actively participate in as many sessions as possible. May we kindly ask you to put this event on your agenda?

Please find the programme here.

This workshop has the following purposes:
(1)   Enable individual researchers (or groups of researchers) to present their recent research and/or their plans for 2014 concerning external funding applications.
(2)   Provide advice for researchers who would like to raise external funds but not know yet which funding instruments best suit them.
(3)   Provide advice for researchers who would like to achieve any other goal (e.g. career enhancement, international publications, building a European research network, etc.).
(4)   Make researchers more familiar with Horizon 2020. The first calls for Horizon 2020 will be made public on 11 December. The earlier we begin planning our applications, the better!

The workshop is open to researchers who are already involved in the PIPR programme, as well as researchers who are not yet involved in this programme but consider the option of joining this programme as from January 2014.

This workshop will allow all of us to better understand what our colleagues are doing. It will help us think about possible co-operations for research projects and funding applications. Last but not least, it will help all of us form new ideas in a spontaneous discussion environment.

Thank you & with kind regards,

Aurelia Colombi Ciacchi and Fokko Oldenhuis
