Short Biography Dr. Patrick O'Callaghan
Dr. Patrick O’Callaghan is lecturer in law at Newcastle Law School, Newcastle University, UK where he teaches EU constitutional law and tort law. He is a graduate of University College Cork, Ireland (BCL 2003, LLM 2004) and received his doctorate from the University of Bremen, Germany (2009, summa cum laude). Before joining Newcastle, he was researcher at the Centre for European law and Politics (ZERP) at the University of Bremen. Dr. O’Callaghan’s main research interests are in legal theory (particularly connections between law, epistemology and cognitive theory), tort law and EU law (particularly EMU). He is author of Refining Privacy in Tort Law (Berlin and New York: Springer, 2012) and co-editor with Gert Brüggemeier and Aurelia Colombi Ciacchi of Personality Rights in European Tort Law (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2010).
