Law Placements
Are you looking for an intern?
Do you have a legal research question or need help with carrying out a legal activity or project? With their up-to-date knowledge, our students can be of great assistance. Placements are also an ideal way to make students aware of your organization as a future employer and for you to become acquainted with future employees.
Registering your placement position
Do you have a placement position for a law student? If so, you can report it to csl rug.nl. Career Services Law will ensure that the placement is registered in our placement and vacancy database and emailed to students who have registered for this service.
What are the eligibility criteria for your placement position?
To ensure that both you and our students derive the maximum benefit from the placement, we emphasize the following:
-
Your placement position should give our students ample opportunity to acquaint themselves with professional practice at an academic level by carrying out their own research on problems relating to the law, policy or administration.
-
The work carried out by the intern should tie in with our degree programmes.
-
You must appoint a placement mentor (a lawyer or other academically trained administrator or policy expert, depending on the nature of the placement) who will be responsible for supervising the intern. The Faculty will appoint a placement coordinator who will be your contact and who will look after lecturer supervision of the intern.
-
The placement must have a minimum scope of 160 hours, excluding the writing of the report. A consecutive period of four 40-hour weeks is preferred, but other arrangements are possible following consultation.
