Art Committee
For years there has been an Art Committee in the Faculty of Arts that takes care of the presence of art in the lecture halls. But in 2008 the Art Committee made a new start, with new members and new plans.
Mission statement
The Art Committee Harmonie takes care of the presentation of art in the (semi) public spaces in the buildings of the Faculty of Arts and Law, which is of good quality, stimulating in a creative way and encourages reflection. The Art Committee wants to involve the users and visitors of the buildings in the art that is shown and to be shown, and to establish a relationship between art and science as creative and innovative processes.
It is the intention of the art committee to:
- bring art in the public space of the Harmonie building more to the attention of its users.
- give new impulses to what is shown there.
The Faculty of Law has now also joined in, so that together we form the Harmonie art committee.
As part of the UG festivities with the appropriate theme of Art meets Science in 2009, the opening of the 'Kunst in de Harmonie' exhibition was the Art Committee's first public activity at the time.
