Opening Academic Year Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies

The joint opening of the academic year for the UG’s Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies (ThRS) and the Protestant Theological University (PThU) will be held in the Doopsgezinde Kerk (Mennonite Church) on Wednesday 5 September. Main topic of the the programme will be the health and wellbeing of people living in the Groningen earthquake zone. Special Guest is René Paas, the King's Commisioner (Governor) of the Province of Groningen. The event starts at 4 p.m.
Dr Hanneke Muthert researches spiritual guidance in the event of disasters, including those in the Groningen earthquake zone. She will give a presentation about how she and her colleagues focus on the resilience of the inhabitants of the earthquake zone and the reflexive legal capacity of institutions and experts.
Mr. René Paas, the King's Commissioner (Governor) of the Province of Groningen, will give a lecture as well.
