Have you always wanted to know what an ambassador’s job involves? What goes on at the Vatican? What qualifications you need to be able to work in a place like that? On Wednesday 6 September you will have an opportunity to ask Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Parma, ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Holy See (the Vatican), these and any other questions during a College Tour organized by the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies.
Programme
His Royal Highness will answer questions from 2.15 to 3.15 p.m., assisted by facilitator Dr Brenda Bartelink. The College Tour will be held in the Van Swinderen Huys, in the same street as the Faculty. Please send in your questions beforehand. The best ones will be selected. If your question is among them, you will be able to put it to the Prince yourself.

Opening of Academic Year, Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies
After the College Tour, the joint opening of the academic year for the UG’s Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies and the Protestant Theological University will be held in the Doopsgezinde Kerk (Mennonite Church). Prince Jaime will give an address during the opening.
Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Parma
His Royal Highness Prince Jaime Bernardo of Bourbon-Parma (Nijmegen, 1972) is the second son of Princess Irene and Carlos Hugo of Bourbon-Parma. Since 2014 he has been ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Holy See in the Vatican City. He studied International Relations and obtained a Master’s degree in International Economics and Conflict Management, both in the US. Before his appointment as ambassador, he held various posts abroad: as first secretary of the Netherlands Embassy in Baghdad, as political advisor to a military peace mission in Afghanistan and as a member of the cabinet of European Commissioner Neelie Kroes in Brussels. From 2007 to 2014 he was stationed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, first as senior political advisor on Crisis Management and Peace Operations and then as Special Envoy for Natural Resources.
