@UG_Spotlight: A unique glimpse of the University

What goes on behind the scenes of the University of Groningen (UG)? Who is working on groundbreaking research, what kind of exciting and innovative lectures do students have, and how do we, as the UG, deal with today’s challenges? The new Twitter account @UG_Spotlight has the answers, provided by researchers, staff members, and students. The first posts will be published on Monday 31 October by Brenda Mathijssen, researcher in the fields of Psychology, Culture and Religion and one of the speakers at the Aletta Research Meet-up on 3 November.
Every week, someone from the UG takes over the @UG_Spotlight account to talk about their work. This might be a researcher doing an interesting study, an enthusiastic staff member, an active student organization, a multidisciplinary research school, a passionate lecturer. There are virtually no rules, other than that the temporary account holder posts about their work regularly, whether about a new discovery, favourite workplace, or an exceptional collaboration. This way, the account offers a unique glimpse of what goes on inside the University walls through the eyes of the UG community.
Be sure to follow the account on Twitter, discover what your colleagues and fellow students are doing, and, who knows, you might be telling us all about your work soon!
Background
@UG_Spotlight is based on the popular Twitter account @NL_Wetenschap, which features a different academic from a Dutch university talking about their research every week. @UG_Spotlight is coordinated by the Corporate Communication Office. If you have any questions or if you would like to take over the account sometime, please contact Thomas Vos, Twitter manager of the UG.
