First UTQ certificates for Polish University Teachers

14 January 2020

Last week 70 Polish University Teachers received a certificate similar to the UTQ from the University of Groningen. UG is partner in the Masters of Didactics (MoD) project led by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and funded by the European Social Fund. Over the course of five years, from 2018 to 2022, the project will train 1,000 lecturers from Polish institutes of higher education in teaching and tutoring skills. UG  is one of the five European partner universities in this project, providing training to a total of 210 lecturers.

The 70 participants were member of one of four groups trained by ESI. In total they have spent around 150 hours in the project, with attending a full study week visit at the University of Groningen, three follow-up modules in Poland and completing homework assignments. Project leader Jan Folkert Deinum was entitled to hand them their certificate.

The remaining participants recently started or will start their programme in Groningen. Additionally,  Groningen is the only partner university to also offer an advanced program for an additional 200 lecturers, which is set to start in the summer of 2020. In the advanced program, participants can choose for tracks on Senior Qualification, Educational Leadership or a Train the Trainer program.
