Internationale paper award Jorien Vugteveen voor artikel over voorspellen van psychiatrische diagnoses

Tijdens het 11e internationale congres van de International Test Commission, zal RUG promovenda Jorien Vugteveen één van de twee best student paper awards ontvangen. Zij krijgt de award voor haar artikel “Using the Dutch multi-informant Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) to predict adolescent psychiatric diagnoses” dat in februari 2018 in het journal European Child & Adolescent Psychiatry verscheen.

Jorien Vugteveen doet haar promotieonderzoek getiteld ‘Validation of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire for adolescents’ binnen de vakgroep Psychometrische & Statistische Technieken van de afdeling Psychologie van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen onder begeleiding van prof. dr. Marieke Timmerman en dr. Annelies De Bildt van Accare.

Voorspellen type psychiatrische problemen jongeren

Het artikel beschrijft in hoeverre de Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) een eerste indruk kan geven van het type psychiatrische problemen waar een jongere last van heeft. Daartoe is niet alleen de predictieve waarde van SDQ subschalen onderzocht, maar ook de discriminatieve waarde. Bovendien is onderzocht wie in deze context een betere informant is: jongeren zelf of hun ouders.

Uitreiking

De award wordt uitgereikt tijdens het 11e internationale congres van de International Test Commission in Montreal. Dit congres vindt plaats van 2-5 juli 2018. De International Test Commission (ITC) omschrijft zichzelf als “The association of national psychological associations, test commissions, publishers and other organizations committed to promoting effective testing and assessment policies and to the proper development, evaluation and uses of educational and psychological instruments.”
