Ben Feringa in College Tour on 28 April
The College Tour episode with Ben Feringa will be aired on Friday 28 April at 9.10 p.m. on NPO2. On Thursday 20 April 2017, the Nobel prizewinner was a guest on the popular TV programme NRT College Tour. The recordings in the Groningen Stadsschouwburg attracted a large audience. Students were able to ask Ben Feringa questions via the presenter Twan Huys.
Highpoint of College Tour
College Tour attracts many well-known figures from the Netherlands and abroad, such as Bill Gates, Robbie Williams, Mark Rutte, Johan Cruijff and the Dalai Lama, and now Ben Feringa. In the episode to be aired on 28 April, Ben Feringa talked about his life and work. Twan Huys called the episode with Ben Feringa ‘a highpoint in the series in all respects’.
Although Twan Huys actually conducted the interview, students in the audience were given the opportunity to ask Ben Feringa questions. This meant that Ben Feringa not only discussed his own research, but also subjects such as the ethics of science, uncertainty and what students must learn. According to Twan Huys, Ben Feringa is able to make complicated issues understandable.
