Presentations of Bachelor's degree programmes

Attend a lecture, talk to students, lecturers and study advisors, meet the people you may be sitting next to in the lecture halls next year. Gain an impression of Groningen, the city where you may spend the next four or five years. Gather information, test the waters; that's what the University of Groningen Open Day on Friday 29 january is all about. The Open Day includes presentations of all the University's Bachelor's degree programmes. Prospective students can sign up to visit a maximum of four programmes; two in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Themed lectures

As well as presentations of the degree programmes, the Open Day also offers themed lectures on subjects such as finding a room, learning to budget, the difference between a university and a university of applied sciences, student life in Groningen and spending time studying abroad. The programme also includes special lectures for prospective international students.

Information fairs

What's the procedure for enrolling at university? How does the student loan system work? What are the latest developments with regard to the system of drawing lots, selection and matching? Is it difficult to find a room? Which special facilities are available for international students? Does Groningen have a fun introduction period? And what about the student associations? Visitors to the Open Day will find the answers to these and many other questions at two general information fairs in the Centre (Academy Building) and on the Zernike Campus (Duisenberg Building).

Choosing a Degree Programme workshops

A number of workshops on how to choose a degree programme have also been organized for the Open Day. Who are you, what are you good at, what do you want? Which programme suits you best? These are the types of questions dealt with during the workshops.

Guided tour of the city

Finally, students from GroningenLife! will give guided tours to show you the highlights and hotspots in the city of Groningen.
