Faculty of Philosophy celebrates its 50th anniversary
Philosophy has been taught and practiced since the founding of the University of Groningen in 1614. In 1965, the Faculty of Philosophy was established, entitled: "Central Interfaculty" (Centrale Interfaculteit), and yet, under its current name, has developed into one of the leading philosophy institutes of the Netherlands.
Everyone (students, alumni, (ex-)staff members and relations) is cordially invited to come to the Faculty on Saturday, 14 November to celebrate.
Apart from the celebration in November, we have organized several anniversary lectures:
- Simon Blackburn on 9 February
- Michael Bratman on 22 April
- Onora O'Neill on 8 October
- Frans de Waal on 9 November
You can find details on the lectures in the faculty events calendar.
