New project “Cooperation of mental health services and social security institute aimed at reintegration of people with mental disabilities”
Work & Health UMCG is investigating the cooperation between mental health services and the social security institute in the support of people with mental disabilities to find and maintain employment. This can help to stimulate and improve the cooperation between both agencies at local and regional level in the future.
The social security institute and the national mental health service have agreed to cooperate to support people with mental disabilities, who have the ability to work and who are motivated, to find and maintain employment. Mental health services share their expertise regarding the abilities of people with mental disabilities and the social security institute shares expertise regarding regulations and reintegration.
The objective of the study is to investigate the existing cooperation between professionals of both agencies in a structured way. It will also reveal to what extent agencies are working together at the moment and in what ways they cooperate.
The study started at the end of 2013 and will continue through December 2014. The study is conducted by Anja Holwerda and Andrea Fokkens. Sandra Brouwer is project leader.
