Prof. Dimitry Kochenov to Moderate the Roundtables of EU Overseas Leaders
Following an invitation of the Premier of the Government of Greenland, Prof. Dimitry Kochenov, Chair in EU Constitutional Law, will be moderating three roundtables of the Heads of the Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union at the upcoming EU Overseas Countries and Territories Association (OCTA) ministerial conference in Ilulissat, Greenland this September. The OCTA meeting will also be attended by EU Commissioner Andris Piebalgs.
It is the first time an academic is invited by the EU’s Overseas leaders to act in such capacity and is a sign of recognition of the important research on the EU’s Overseas conducted at the Department of European and Economic Law, which now plays a leading role on this issue in Europe alongside French institutions. Prof. Kochenov will spend a week in Greenland and present his edited volume on ‘EU Law of the Overseas’ – the first book in English on this subject – to the leaders of the Associated Countries and Territories.
