Northern Party Leader Debate
On Wednesday 5 September 2012, the Northern Party Leader Debate took place in the Aula of the University of Groningen. The participants were Diederik Samsom (PvdA), Emile Roemer (SP), Alexander Pechtold (D66), Sybrand Buma (CDA), Jolanda Sap (GroenLinks), Arie Slob (ChristenUnie), Marianne Thieme (PvdD) and Hero Brinkman (DPK).
Major national themes have been discussed, and were also translated to the regional situation. Wouke van Scherrenburg and Remy van Mannekes (RTV Noord) led the discussion. The debate, with audience, was transmitted live on RTV Noord, RTV Drenthe, Omrop Fryslân and Politiek 24 from 3.30 p.m.
The Northern Party Leader Debate is an initiative of the Queen’s Commissioners of Drenthe, Fryslân and Groningen, in cooperation with the University of Groningen and RTV Noord.
