Developmental delay, whether or not accompanied by additional neurological symptoms, may be presenting symptom of a serious condition. Many diseases are known to cause developmental delay. The research described in this thesis aimed to add knowledge on the design of the diagnostic process, taking into account newly emerging diagnostic techniques and recently discovered diseases.
