Loes Lennarts appointed Professor of Comparative Company Law

On 1 February 2011, Loes Lennarts (1965) was appointed Professor of Comparative Company Law at the Faculty of Law. Comparative company law is undergoing major changes and is strongly influenced by international developments and new technologies. The new chair will focus on comparative company law, i.e. generating a common frame of reference based on the various legal systems.

Prof. M.L. Lennarts studied Dutch law in Nijmegen and subsequently gained her PhD at the University of Groningen in 1999 with a thesis entitled ‘Moeder aansprakelijk voor schulden dochter’ (Mother liable for daughter’s debts). She went on to work at the University of Groningen and at Utrecht University. Her field of expertise is company law and bankruptcy law.
